Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort

Experience a 4-night stay at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Lapland, Finland. Nestled in the heart of the wilderness, Kakslauttanen offers the perfect escape to experience the unique charm of the North. Spend 2 nights in a cozy log cabin with your own private sauna and fireplace, then enjoy 2 nights in a renowned glass igloo with half board. From the comfort of your bed, gaze up at the mesmerizing Northern Lights and the sparkling starry sky above.

Arrival Day

Arrive in Finland and get settled into your accommodations at the resort.

Day 1

Immerse yourself in the Arctic wilderness and culture with a reindeer sleigh ride. Your guide will greet you in the morning and provide thermal outfits at the farm. After snapping a few photos with the reindeer, settle into the sled under cozy blankets and venture into the wild. The journey is peaceful, allowing you to relax, breathe in the crisp air, and listen to the sounds of the Arctic landscape. Once the ride concludes, warm up with coffee and a Finnish treat in a traditional “Kota,” a reindeer herder’s home.

Get ready for an exciting change of pace in the afternoon, as a thrilling snowmobile adventure awaits. The best way to explore Lapland’s stunning snowy terrain is on a snowmobile. Thermal outfits and instructions will be provided, and the snowmobile accommodates two, with one person driving and the other riding along. Feel free to swap drivers halfway through for an even more fun experience!

Day 2

Two thrilling adventures await you today! Start with an exciting husky sled ride right after breakfast, followed by a serene Aurora Safari on a horse-drawn sleigh in the evening. Your guide will meet you in the morning, provide the necessary winter gear, and then it’s off to meet the eager huskies waiting by the sleds. Your guide will show you how to stop, turn, and steer the sled, which is designed for two people—one sitting in the sleigh while the other drives. You can switch roles halfway through for a fun experience!

The rest of the day is yours to explore the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort at your leisure. Then, in the evening, get ready for another unforgettable experience. You’ll receive winter attire at the horse stables, where two majestic Finnhorses will pull a wooden sleigh through the tranquil winter forest. Along the way, you may get a chance to stop and watch the Northern Lights if they decide to appear. During a cozy break, enjoy a warm drink while learning about Lapland’s culture and nature.

Day 3

Meet Santa in his home—a childhood dream come true! Nestled deep in the heart of the forest, Santa’s magical realm awaits your visit. You’ll be picked up from the East Village of Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort and driven to Santa’s private residence, where surprises and wonder await you.

Please note that visiting Santa is only possible on certain days of the week, depending on your travel dates. The exact day of your visit will be confirmed when you book your stay.

Additional Information: Winter temperatures can range from 0°C to -40°C (with an average of -14°C), but the dry air makes the cold more bearable. Dressing in layers is key: start with thermal long underwear, add a warm layer like wool or fleece, and top it off with windproof, water-resistant outerwear. Be sure to cover yourself from head to toe. Rental outwear is available at the hotel to ensure you stay warm and comfortable.

Your guide will show you how to stop, steer, and control the sled. The sled is designed for two people—one seated in the sleigh while the other stands and drives. You can switch drivers halfway through for an extra bit of fun!

You’ll have the rest of the day free to explore the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. Then, as the evening falls, another unforgettable experience awaits. Day 4

After a day full of exciting adventures yesterday, today is a more relaxed pace. Enjoy a day at your leisure before embarking on one last thrilling experience in the evening. Hop aboard a snowmobile sleigh and chase the Northern Lights while enjoying stunning panoramic views. The snowmobile sleigh provides a warm and comfortable way to explore Lapland’s snowy fells and forests. There will be plenty of photo opportunities, and you’ll have a chance to step outside to feel the Arctic wilderness firsthand. A hot drink and a treat will be served during the Aurora Hunt.
